Sunday School
Sunday School is offered for all ages, from age 3 through adult on Sunday mornings from September until May at 10:00-11:00 am, following Sunday worship.
In 2019, Open Doors UMC took part in a whole-church experience where everyone read and studied The Story. The Story is a book of selections from the Bible, arranged chronologically, that reads like a novel. The congregation participated through a Sunday morning sermon series, adult small groups, and children and youth classes. During this unique 31-week experience, every member of the family had their own age-appropriate version of The Story book. During Sunday School, children dig deeper and focus on the story of the day. Every class - children, youth, and adults - studyied the same story at the same time, literally on the same page.
The children get 20 minutes of music time and 40 minutes of lesson time.
Confirmation
Confirmation is offered every other year for junior high students. The Pastor teaches this class along with some helpers. The next class will begin in the fall of 2021.
Grow Groups
Adult classes to challenge and strengthen a person's Christian faith and biblical knowledge. The Story has two opportunities for adult classes: Sundays at 9:15 a.m. at the Kiester Campus and Wednesdays at 5:45 p.m. at the Wells Campus.
