Practices every Wednesday September through May. Music is an important way for us to express our faith and to worship God. There is a saying, "They who sing pray twice." What better way to share the joy in making music than to become a part of the adult choir? Laughing is good for the soul, the voice, and for a mid-week pick-me-up. Laughter happens at choir, too!
Sounds of Praise is the official title for the bell choir, although we usually just call them Bells. This type of music making is unique and really fun (if you can judge by the peal of laughter coming from the practice room). Each person is usually responsible for one or two notes in a song. They keep track of the rhythm and counting in the song and play their notes at the appropriate time. It really is a team effort to produce an anthem or offertory.
Those interested in being part of the music and worship team for our Sunday morning worship ministry (singers and instrumentalists), please contact Pastor Paul.
Children in grades 1 - 6 will meet during the 10:00 Sunday School hour. Along with having the opportunity to learn new songs, we hope to have this group share their music during worship on a regular basis. Preschool and kindergarten students also have musical opportunities during their Sunday School time.
For more information on the music opportunities available, please contact Jan Johanson.
